@danwill75 posted a link to this on twitter and I though it was absolutely brilliant! Not exactly sure how factual it is, but it sure is entertaining. And it all starts with dancing goats.
15 (ish) things worth knowing about coffee
There are other entertaining comics and random quizzes to take too so if you’ve got some time to kill – enjoy! One comic worth checking out is How to use an apostrophe. I must admit, I’ve referred to this page a couple of times when trying to decide where to put the apostrophe, it’s quite handy.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday, so it was a nice surprise to realise it was Friday morning (don’t you love it when that happens). The best way to start a Friday morning – a large cup of Campos Coffee. Ahh…
Btw: Still recovering from Oz tag… Oh the pain…

Whenever my cousin is in town he always wants to eat french food. Probably because there aren’t that many good French restaurants in Perth, or any restaurants at all besides Malaysian / Singaporean places.
The other night we headed to La Brasserie on Crown Street in Darlinghurst, this classy Parisian restaurant with real French waiters. I loved their accent, but it did make it a bit hard to understand what was in the days specials. I started off with the French Onion soup – boy is it thick. It comes served with a thick layer of bread and cheese on top and when you get into it there’s a ton of caramelised onion inside. I probably wouldn’t class it as soup though, it’s more gravy than soup. Even though it’s really rich and intense, it’s actually really delicious but I could only
get through half of it, thankfully my cousin loves soup so he polished it off.
For mains I went with the safe option of Steak and French fries. Yes, that’s right real French fries – which look exactly like Maccas chips. Yumo!
The steak was covered in this rich red wine sauce with a lump of flavour infused butter on top. As you can see from the picture, that yellow lump on my steak, it isn’t a slab of corn cob – that’s butter! Really nice butter!
All in all the food was very nice. A bit too rich for my liking, but you really do enjoy that first bite.

Another new cafe has recently opened near my office – Maestro Cafe. It’s this tiny little cafe, I don’t know how they operate in such a small space, but they do and they make one mean coffee.
I only tried it because the sign out the front said it was “organic” coffee and I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. I’m glad I did. The coffee there is awesome. They use Crave Coffee and the name really does sum it up, you do crave for this coffee. With bright yellow cups and umbrellas it’s one coffee you can’t go past.

Good coffee is hard to find. I didn’t always have this problem so I’m not sure if it’s because my standards have raised and I’ve become a coffee snob, or if people are just getting crap at making coffee. I think it might be a bit of both.
I use to buy coffee from the cafe next door and for ages I thought their coffee was pretty okay. But recently a new cafe, The Peppermill Cafe, opened where they serve Campos coffee – and wow what a difference it makes to your life when you have good coffee. Since then, I haven’t looked back. And it’s hard you know, I have to walk past the cafe next door holding a cup of (awesome) Campos coffee – I feel like I’m cheating on them. A couple of times I’ve actually had to sneak around by doing a big loop around the block just so they won’t see me. Sad I know, but it’s all for the love of good coffee.
I emphasise “good” because Campos coffee is just so good. Not So Good like Delta So-Goodrem soy milk – yuk! But seriously good. Apparently the first Campos coffee place in Newtown is so popular that during the morning coffee peak hour rush you could expect to wait about 30 minutes for your coffee, now that’s dedication. Luckily for me I only have to wait 5 minutes.
