Doctor Pong

Doctor Pong - table tennis

With so many pubs and bars in the Oxford street area, you really need something different to draw a crowd. That’s when we stumbled upon Doctor Pong. And with a name like Doctor Pong, you can’t go wong (yes I intentionally left the ‘r’ out).

Don’t worry the name doesn’t relate to a foul smell or any funky like that. It’s simply that there’s a ping pong table right in the middle of the bar. Normally where you would find a deserted dance floor with a few awkward people dancing they’ve placed a ping pong table. Sheer genius!

Doctor Pong - free food

Since this bar is new in town it needed some good chatter, and what’s the best way to get the people talking? Free food, and I’m talking good free food. That yellow mushy looking thing in the picture above was amazing! I think it was some sort of butternut pumpkin puree – divine!

The bar has a really cool vibe, it’s decked out with really classy leather psychiatrist-type lounges matched (or contrasted) with wooden crates as tables, which doubles as an entertainment factor. As you can see from the picture below, we were quite entertained with writing messages and stupid things on the crates.
